rest in peace..

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven

where the love of our lost ones pours through and

shines down upon us to let us know that are happy.

may you rest in peace grandpa

my prayers and memories are with you

trip to the winery

March 10th 2009 - Trip to De Bortouli Winery

It was a very eye-opening trip, getting close up to wine making and vineyards around it. Tasting over 20 types of wine produced by the vineyard. It was amazing.. what an experience!! Worth the AUD$25. hahaha.

  • If you are indoors - stay there (clear of falling debris outside). Keep clear of windows, chimneys and overhead fittings. Shelter under and hold onto a door frame, strong table or bench.

  • DO NOT use elevators.
  • In crowded areas or stores, do not rush for doors, but move clear of overhead fittings and shelves.
  • If outside, keep well clear of buildings, overhead structures, walls, bridges, powerlines, trees etc.

taking a break

after long hours spent, after sweat and blood, i've done my assignments which are due next week and the week after next. I was nervous at first, because i didn't know how to write a proper university essay. But it turned out to be good. Luckily. Hard work brings success. I've been studying hard, trying to excel in class and i think i'm making my progress pretty smoothly. Lecturer focuses on me most of the time, i know it. Every morning especially Principles of Management class, Andrew (my lecturer) will always call my name first to answer questions. hehez.

so as a treat to so many days n nights of hard work, i went out wif a bunch of my friends today for a hot chocolate. Because the weather was cold today, very nice for a cup of hot chocolate. Yummy...

friends: from top left: Michelle (always cute) Anthon, (macho), Kerry (crazy), Rhys (big bro)

the yummy hot chocolate ... yummmmmmm oh by the way, the first cup of hot latte is my friends'.

wine class

Studying in William Angliss has really broaden my knowledge towards food. So many things that i thought i wouldn't know, or did not even bother to know .. now has become an exciting adventure towards my culinary career. Not only i now want to be good in everything, i want to be the best. Coming to William Angliss has really motivated me and pushed me to do my best always. Everything seems so interesting, everything seemed to make me crack my head to wonder, "what is this? why is this? how come is this?" these questions keep popping in my head, making me so curious to many things. Hey, lecturers remembers my name ok!! hahaha. I was always the active one in class.

So posted below are some pictures i took during my wine class. The white guy is David Craven, our wine lecturer. And the other fat guy, who looks younger is my brazilian friend, Ricardo. He's teaching us how to properly open a bottle of sparkling wine. The pressure in the bottle is equivalent to a shooting bullet. So it must be handled properly. Or your eyes might be popped out by the cork. Hahaha.

Four different wines will be tasted every week. We had white wine last week, so this week we had sparkling wines. Wondering why there's a red wine in it? Its Rumball, a sparkling red wine from South Australia. Hey it tastes like ribenna, hahaha. Well, the famous sparkling red wine is always Rose. haven't tried that yet .. probably during Culture & Cuisine class. can't wait!

This is Prosecco, a sparkling white wine, product of Italy. A very commercialize wine, great for all occasions. The fruity taste with a hint of caramel makes it a good wine for light dishes. (sounds like a wine expert huh.. :-P )

what a week

What a week i had. Lots of interesting stuffs, met lots of new friends and classes were fun! hahaa. I guess i am the only one in this world to say college classes are fun. So, lets start talking from Valentines day. It was just like any other day, hahaha. so much for valentines. Went to the market with Renee and Kerena to buy our presentation stuffs. The famous Queen Victoria Market. It was so big, that took me half an hour to look for Renee because she arrived first. We kept calling each other, and kept walking looking for each other. ahhaha it was funny. but thank god it wasn't really hot that day. So after the market trip, Renee rushed home. me and kerena went downtown shopping. I wanted to go look for jackets. But couldn't find one. So we both ended up in McD eating ice cream with fries.

So Monday came, i was really excited because I AM GOING TO CLASS !! hahaha. It was just lectures on monday. But thats the only day i could meet my other friends from other courses. After class we went for lunch, ermm.. i think it was sandwiches...

Tuesday came ! It was my favourite class, Principles of Management. The lecturer Andrew was a really fun guy. We had debates in class, quiz and it was just fun. Classes were never boring. For me only i think. ahhaha. But, Andrew is also the only lecturer that gives us a lot of reading every week. Books.. articles, journals.. oh my god its piling up.

Well today is Wednesday. Class was the best today. I had to do a presentation in front of the class about herbs and peas. It went pretty well, a lot of compliments from the lecturer. The presentation was supposed to be 15 minutes, but i kept talking n talking n talking .. it went on for half n hour. Hahaha got over excited about it. Surprisingly, i wasn't nervous about it. Cool heh.. hahaha . Then i got the chance to cook up lunch for the class. So i just made a simple salad with calamari rings. Well that's the dish for the day, which we learned how to match with a wine. Really awesome. Again received a lot of compliments from the classmates about the food. And a few of them actually approached me and asked me to teach them how to cook .. hahaha.

Well thats it. Tomorrow is thursday, and its Trends and wine class. Wine class again !!! Mmmm... yummy. Can't wait!!

PS: i just spend 6 hours finishing up my assignment. It was my first essay assignment. Hope it goes well.

Luv ya guys!
