Philip Island Trip

Trip to Philip Island : 9th April 2009
People: Adrian, Michelle, Stamford and Yuru

We drove 2 hours away from Melbourne all the way to Philip Island to see penguins .. drove back home with dissapointments as the tickets were sold out. Ended up having a nice dinner at Stone Grill . It was the very first restaurant that started the stone grilling thing. That they serve your meal on hot stones. Very interesting and new to me.

Pictures are attached below. Enjoy.

great ocean road

sunday we took a road trip down to the infamous Great Ocean Road in Victoria. It was a long drive from Melbourne, across the roads by the sea with magnificant scenic views. It was fun and exciting but tiring after the many hours spent on assignments before depature.

trip to the winery

March 10th 2009 - Trip to De Bortouli Winery

It was a very eye-opening trip, getting close up to wine making and vineyards around it. Tasting over 20 types of wine produced by the vineyard. It was amazing.. what an experience!! Worth the AUD$25. hahaha.

PS: Do comment on my photography skills. Not bad for a samsung camera. Hahha.

melbourne earthquake !!!

2009 March 6, Korumburra, VIC ML 4.50955 UTC, 145.87°E, 38.43°S,
10 km deepFriday, March 6, 08:55 pm

This earthquake occurred about 5km east of Korumburra, in the same area as the ML 3.7 earthquake on January 12. This earthquake has been felt widely throughout the epicentral region and across Melbourne. A number of small aftershocks occurred in the hour after this earthquake and at the time of report it was said that aftershocks were expected to continue for some days or weeks.

What to Do in an EarthquakeDuring an earthquake??

  • If you are indoors - stay there (clear of falling debris outside). Keep clear of windows, chimneys and overhead fittings. Shelter under and hold onto a door frame, strong table or bench.
  • In high rise buildings, stay clear of windows and outer walls. Shelter under a desk near a pillar or internal wall.
  • DO NOT use elevators.
  • In crowded areas or stores, do not rush for doors, but move clear of overhead fittings and shelves.
  • If outside, keep well clear of buildings, overhead structures, walls, bridges, powerlines, trees etc.
  • In a city street, shelter from falling debris under strong archways or doorways of buildings. Don't go under awnings as they may collapse.
  • In a vehicle, stop in an open area until shaking stops.
  • Beware of downed powerlines and road damage, including overpasses and bridges. Listen to your car radio for warnings before moving.

taking a break

after long hours spent, after sweat and blood, i've done my assignments which are due next week and the week after next. I was nervous at first, because i didn't know how to write a proper university essay. But it turned out to be good. Luckily. Hard work brings success. I've been studying hard, trying to excel in class and i think i'm making my progress pretty smoothly. Lecturer focuses on me most of the time, i know it. Every morning especially Principles of Management class, Andrew (my lecturer) will always call my name first to answer questions. hehez.

so as a treat to so many days n nights of hard work, i went out wif a bunch of my friends today for a hot chocolate. Because the weather was cold today, very nice for a cup of hot chocolate. Yummy...

friends: from top left: Michelle (always cute) Anthon, (macho), Kerry (crazy), Rhys (big bro)

the yummy hot chocolate ... yummmmmmm oh by the way, the first cup of hot latte is my friends'.

chaoz amigos..!
